Michele, Marketing Manager
I consider myself to be a successful goal-oriented person. To keep the edge, I always keep current on books in the areas of leadership, self-discovery, and personal growth. A colleague recommended mPWR10 as something that dramatically impacted his life. I immediately connected with mPWR10 because habits are easily summarized in one place and it provides a practical way to carry through on actions in daily life.
Throughout my career I developed a talent and passion for leading, coaching and mentoring others. Going through the mPWR10 process reinforced for me that my best work days are those when people shadow me and I am teaching them. It fuels and drives me. Spending time each day with mPWR10 gave me confidence to be open and forthright about my desire to enhance my own effectiveness and that of others by teaching – this is my passion and best fit. After I crystallized what I wanted I found doors started to open and opportunities came to me. For example, when a new person joined the team, I recommended to my manager that I provide training. She agreed, and I found this was a terrific way to utilize my skills and also create benefits for others on my team.
In the past I often had a difficult time accepting help from others, either because of pride or not wanting to feel like a burden. What I have come to realize is that by giving back to others, my happiness is enhanced. One day while I was walking I saw a woman across the street who was struggling with her bags and I ran to help her. She gave me a look like ‘why are you helping me?’ and I recognized that as the response I would have given if someone was trying to help or support me. At the same time I felt so good that I was able to help her that there was a benefit to me as well. I realized that when I don’t allow others to help me I am taking that gift away from them. So now I both freely give to and accept help from others. I find this enhances my well-being, happiness and balance.
In the past when I implemented what I learned in seminars or personal development books, I might see short term changes, but advances waned when I stopped. Rather than stop and start, move forward and then slip back, mPWR10 makes it easy to keep going. A small commitment of time each day keeps me on track, and over time the small shifts have grown into amazingly big changes!
